HalloweenCelebrated in the United States, Canada, and the British Isles annually on October 31, by children going door-to-door while wearing costumes, asking for treats, and/or playing pranks. This practice is known by the traditional greeting by the children, "Trick or Treat." Halloween occurs on the evening preceding the Christian feast of Hallowmas, Allhallows, or All Saints' Day. The origin of Halloween is thought to have started with the Druids who believed that evil spirits wandered the earth on that particular evening and would light fires to ward off these spirits.
