Arbor DayArbor: Latin for tree. An annual tree planting day in the United States for the beautification of towns and to stress the importance of forest preservation. Arbor Day was introduced in 1872 by Julius Sterling Morton in the state of Nebraska. It is celebrated annually on the last Friday in April, but a few states have a fixed date.
